As a very special gift to the community this holiday season, Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel will sponsor a "Holiday Help" program to assist individuals who have experienced the death of a family member or close friend.

The two-hour program was developed by Accord Aftercare Services, a national grief counseling and information organization. "Holiday Help" has been presented in communities throughout the United States. An expert speaker from Accord, Sherry L. Williams, will be present to explain how the grief process works and share ways others have coped. Also, featured will be practical suggestions as how to memorialize a loved one and what to do about party invitations.

The Holidays can be especially difficult for people who have recently lost someone close to them. Dr. Sandra Graves, educational consultant for Accord explains, "After conducting hundreds of these programs throughout the country, we know how helpful the information is. At first, people are doubtful whether they should attend the program because they are afraid it may cause them to relive their grief. Afterwards, participants feel the "Holiday Help" programs give them a sense of hope for the upcoming holidays."
