Rodney Schmidt
Rodney Gene Schmidt, 46, Gosport, died April 6, 2009, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  Rodney was born April 26, 1962, in Indianapolis. 
 
Rodney graduated from Mooresville High School in 1980. He worked for the last nine years as a shipping specialist for Ceva Logistics, which serves Allison Transmission. He was a proud member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78 and the Order of the Eastern Star, of which he was past patron. In addition, he attended Centennial Christian Church. 
 
He was preceded in death by his father, George William Schmidt; son, Corey Daniel Schmidt; brother, Steven L. Schmidt
 
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Johnson) Schmidt, they were united in marriage July 27, 1985; children, Leslie Rose Schmidt of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Ann Schmidt of Gosport; mother, Vera Lee Rickie Schmidt of Martinsville; brothers, George R. Schmidt of Indianapolis, Richard E. Schmidt of Mooresville, Glenn W. Schmidt of Beech Grove, Donald A. Schmidt of Taswell; Bryan J. Schmidt of Avon, Robert L. Schmidt of Avon; sisters, Connie A. Lafary of Martinsville, Paula L. Basey of Honor, Michigan, Shirley M. Moffitt of Indianapolis; grandson, Zachary Glenn Schmidt of Indianapolis.  
 
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, April 9, 2009, 3 to 8 p.m., in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville.  Masonic Memorial and Eastern Star Services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009, 11 a.m., in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Indiana. Visit http://www.lifestorynet.com/memories/47045/ to continue reading Rod’s Life Story, share a favorite memory, or sign the online guest registry.

It's been a long time since I've seen Rod, but he will always be remembered as a really nice guy who was always cool to his friend's little sister. My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to the family.

I worked with Rodney at Eagle (Ceva), He was a very good person.Every time I seen him he always had a smile on his face. He will be sady missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.
