| I had the pleasure of having Devin and Damien work for me both for four years each. In that time, I can truly say that I have never had a pair of siblings who were so close, and yes, it carried over to Donovan,Marianne and Doug. If it was as simple as just walking past each other for a shift change or one of their "arguements", they always had three simple words to say to each other. It didn't matter what the topic of the fight was, at the end, it was three simple words. This is what will always stick in my mind about the Blacks. Doug and Marianne did a great job of raising their children, no easy feat these days. If I can be half the parents that they are, I would be lucky. Devin and Damien would always clock in for their shift, then procede to tell me about that little brother of theirs, Donovan. How he did this, how he did that, and after a while of hearing this you could tell that truly loved and were very proud of him. I wish that I still owned my business because then I know that I too would have had the priviledge of having ANOTHER Black working for me and as I write these words, two things come to mind. I would have had another GREAT employee work for me and I would have heard those three little words again that the family used every day, no matter what the situation was. I hope that my family would use those words as often as the Blacks did, no matter what the occasion was. Those three little words used without impunity, without strings attached and used truly from their hearts. I Love You. From Pete, Caroll,Austen and Sophia, we will miss him and it was an honor to have met him. Doug and Marianne-you have raised fine adults, we hope to do the same. God bless. |

| Dear Black family, you don't know me but my daughter Elizabeth (Liz) was one of Donovan's friends. I remember when the kids didn't drive and I seemed to be one of the many "taxi's" for the kids. Donovan always loved being around everyone and always wanted to put a smile on your face. I never saw him alone. He always had a friend or group of friends with him. My heart truly goes out to you with the absence of (Your Precious Donovan)it seems nothing can comfort us until we picture Donovan SAFE in the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The Celebration in Heaven right along with a Loving Family Reunion with Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, (my Uncle Bud, Aunt Birdie, Sandy, Susie) and of course (his Grandpa Stich, not to forget my Mom, Dad, Pam and Kenny and the recent loss of Leslie and Kelly (Our very Large and Whole Families too many to list!)
Yes, we will miss him but he's not lost, we know exactly where he is! We will have a (Great Family Reunion and what a Reunion it will be!) I am so sorry that you are suffering this extreme hurt and I am tearing up as I type this. Although I may not be there with you physically, just know my heart and my prayers are with you always. | he was a great kid. he will be missed dearly by many. i remember when him and doug came to my house about 4 years ago to plow our driveway when we had about a foot of snow. when they were finished donovan took me for a ride on the quad around my backyard. i told him " hey drive it back there in the ditch" he said " alright i will" so we rode it in the ditch and got stuck. we tried for about 20 minutes to get it unstuck so doug would not flip out that we got his quad stuck. well soon enough doug and my dad came walkin around the back and saw two little kids tryin to pull a quad out of a ditch. they stood there for a few minutes laughing at us. and finally they helped get it out of the ditch. i miss you don! you were a great person and always knew how to have fun and make everyone laugh. you will be missed dearly. we all love you very much.

| First, let me say how very sorry I am that you have suffered this tragedy in your lives. I cannot possibly comprehend what you are feeling and experiencing, you are suffering a grief I cannot imagine, and for that, I am so truly sorry.

I would have kept you tight in my arms.
And kissed you more than a thousand times.
I would have told you how you make me so proud.
And shouted” I LOVE YOU” out loud.
I would have thanked you for every little thing.
And the abundant joy, you always bring
I would have apologized for causing you any dismay.
While disciplining you during your fun and play
I would have hugged you one more hug.
Cause there’s no such a thing as to much hugging.
I would have asked you to say “Dad” again and again.
So that your voice gets imprinted in my brain.
I would have accompanied you to the places you’ll miss
Places you loved, which witnessed your bliss.
I would have gathered all your friends
To embrace you with happiness till the day ends.

We could have said goodbye in a proper way.
I remember the first time I met Donovan, I had pulled up to my brother’s house and two very little boys came running up to me full of sweat and mud stuck to them, “Eric & Donovan” I took a look at him and thought to myself man he looks like a guy I used to work with. I asked him his name and he replied Donovan, then I asked him what is your dads name, he replied, DAD. That was typical Donovan and I will miss him so.
Doug and Marianne, I would like to say one thing and that is, who Donovan was is part of who you are and those parts can’t be taken away form you and that can’t die, He will always live in you to feel, love and embrace whether with friends or by yourself he’ll be right beside you the rest of your life. Doug, Marianne, Damien Devin do this, look into a mirror and if you look real hard I’ll bet he’ll be looking right back at yo |

| Doug and Marianne--I was so sorry and saddened to hear about the sudden loss of Donovan.
My family and I have such fond memories of Donovan when he was a baby and a sweet little boy.
Mom and I remarked the other day that we remembered taking care of Donovan on a few occasions when he was little. I remember one instance where we took him to Red Lobster when we were babysitting for him--I think he was about 2--and he was wearing a little camouflage shirt and jean shorts--and Mom said to him "You're camouflage today!" And Donovan replied, very seriously, "No, I'm DONOVAN!" :)
We are all blessed to have known Donovan. I know that you were wonderful and loving parents to Donovan. I cannot imagine your grief--but please know that your family is in all of our thoughts and prayers. Amy |

| He was a great kid. I remember our juinor year. there was this sub who would never smile. Everyone always tryed to make her smile, but no one could, but donovan was bound and determainded that he was going to make her smile. He said to her are'nt you to young to be a teacher. She smiled realy big and she was happy for the rest of the class day. He also was in Mrs. Kassen drama class with me. He was in the chritmas play with me. as always he intertained us all. He will be missed by everyone |
