James “Jim” Byron Johnson, 76, Mooresville, died May 11, 2009, in residence, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born October 6, 1932, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Ebenezer and Agnes (Highcamp) Johnson.
Jim owned and operated Jim Johnson Drywall for 43 years, retiring in 2008. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion in Mooresville and was a charter member of the Plainfield Eagles.
Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Bryan and a sister, Dottie Byrnes.
Survivors include his wife, Carroll (Selke) Davidson Johnson; they were united in marriage Oct. 16, 1995; son, Tim Johnson (Rochella) of Avon; daughter, Michelle Johnson of Plainfield; stepsons, Greg Davidson (Rhonda) of Mooresville, Brian Davidson (Linda) of Mooresville; brother, Vern Johnson of Franklin; sister, Jacqueline Kays of Mooresville, Jerry Lou Jones of Plainfield, Susie Craven of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Burial will be in Fairfield Friends Cemetery, Friendswood. Rev. Kelly Carter will officiate.
