Earl M. Magenheimer, 75, lifelong Mooresville resident, died May 26, 2009. Earl was born March 17, 1934, in Mooresville, the son of the late Martin and Audie (Beecham) Magenheimer.
Earl was a graduate of Mooresville High School in 1952. He went on to work for Automotive Armature, J.C. Penney, and Evans Milling. Earl was a longtime and dedicated member of First Christian Church, where he also sang in the choir. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Mooresville High School and also had served as president of the Alumni Association. In addition, Earl was active with Big Brohters & Big Sisters and the YMCA Latch Key Kid Program. Having been wheelchair-bound, he was an advocate for Americans with Disabilities and had served on the Governor’s Council on Accessibility.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by brothers, Eddie, Maurice, and Ronald Magenheimer; sisters, Iva Jeffries, Hazel Weddle, and Helen Bayne.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, May 28, 2009, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, in the First Christian Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery. |
