Alberta Swope Wishard, 89, Franklin, died June 24, 2009, in her son’s residence in Greenwood.  Mrs. Wishard was born June 15, 1920, in Brooklyn, Indiana, the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Cecelia (Deck) Swope.  

 

Mrs. Wishard was a real estate broker and owned Wishard Realty in Indianapolis for 15 years, retiring in 1965.  Previously, she had been a personal shopper for the Wm. H. Block Department Store.  She also was a cryptographer for the United States Army Air Forces serving in Washington, D.C. and at Morrison Field in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Mrs. Wishard had also been employed at the Veteran’s Administration in Indianapolis.  

 

Mrs. Wishard married Dell E. Wishard on August 17, 1946; he preceded her in death on December 25, 2007. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Eugene Swope and Evelyn Humke.  

 

Survivors include her son, Craig A. Wishard of Greenwood; several nieces and nephews.  

 

Funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling there from 11:30 a.m.  Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery, Brooklyln.
