Annabelle "Anne" Young

Annabelle “Anne” Young, 84, Mooresville, died December 21, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor.  Mrs. Young was born January 8, 1924, in Wilmette, Illinois, to the late Anton and Mary (Weibler) Thalmann.  

 

Mrs. Young worked for Home Bank as a teller for over 20 years, retiring in 1984.  In addition, she was the Jail Matron in Martinsville for 8 years while her late husband, Victor A. Young was the Morgan County Sheriff. 

 

Mrs. Young was married to Victor A. Young on September 15, 1945; he preceded her in death on June 8, 2005.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Daufenbach. 

 

Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Allen of Mooresville and Sandy Alexander (Ron) of Mooresville; brother, Tony Thalman of Arizona; granddaughters, Maren Allen of Brown County, Dawn Day of Mooresville, Heather Foley of Greenwood; great grandchildren, Allie and Jacob Day; Dakota Parton. 

 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, 2 p.m., in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana St., Mooresville.  Friends and family may visit there from 1 p.m.  Interment will follow in Nebo Memorial Park, Martinsville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Churches in Mission, 27 S. Indiana St., Mooresville.

Vickie, Wish we were there for you as you were for us. Vickie and Sandy, Your parents were always so special to us - just as you are - and even though their in a better place,it is still hard for you. We love you and understand your pain (and some relief) - Anne was such a wonderful Godmother, Aunt, and joy!

Sandy and Vicki: Dont know if you remember me;I am Sheila Grays "little brother". Have good memories of your mom and dad-remember one time spending the afternoon when I must have been 8 or so with your mom at the jail.She was a lovely lady/always compasionate and caring. My thoughts are with you during this time. Parents are special and especially when they are gone, the memories are more precious. My prayers to you both and families.
