Violet L. Jones, 98, Mooresville, formerly of Indianapolis, died December 28, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Mooresville. Mrs. Jones was born September 22, 1910, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward and Flora (Reece) Haller.
Mrs. Jones was a hairdresser for many years and held her beautician’s license up until just a couple of years ago. In addition, she was employed as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell for 26 years. She modeled for the Heron School of Art in Indianapolis many years ago and also enjoyed vacationing at the beach.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, George Johnson and William Jones; sister, Helen Haller; half-sister, Isabelle Davis.
Survivors include her daughter, Violet McKinney of Indianapolis; grandson, Mike McKinney (Michele) of Hazelwood; great granddaughters, Jessica and Alyssa McKinney of Hazelwood.
Visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 11 a.m., in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. |
