Earl Lay, 68, Indianapolis, died October 5, 2008.  Mr. Lay was born June 30, 1940, in Jellico, Tennessee, to the late Henry and Anna Magaline (Reynolds) Lay. 

Mr. Lay enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family. 

Mr. Lay was preceded in death by his half brother, George Bundy and half sister, Susan Melinda Bundy. 

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Virginia Sue (Taylor) Lay; sons, Robert Lay of Sidney, Ohio and Gary Lay of Decatur Township; daughter, Kristy Cruz of Decatur Township; brothers, Ernest Lay of Indianapolis and LeRoy Lay of Indianapolis; sister, Louraine Sams of Indianapolis; five grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will begin at 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, with calling there from 10 a.m.  Pastor Larry Ping will officiate.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana.
